If you have had the privilege to know a cat, then you know. They are who they are. They take you for who you are, well who you are as long as you remember to see them too. When they want to. Not any other time. They also never apologise for being who they are.
Having grown up with at cat as my closest friend, they make sense to me. More than people at times. They know how to love themselves, in a good way. We could learn so much from them. You also know that if a cat accepts you and loves you, then you should feel honoured.
Living with a cat, you will soon discover that they have managed to get everybody to hear and see them, help them to get what they are wanting and when they want it. A truly remarkable skill. I admit I have been short with him at times, perhaps when 3 am he is wanting something and I just want my sleep. Or when he decides to take a bite and it happens to be my arm or finger. Love him dearly though, and he knows it.
Me: "I'm sorry for times I've not been so good to you!"
Nelly: "Okay. I've done things to you too."
Me: "True. Why is that?"
Nelly: "Because you will love me anyway."
Me: "True."
